Outdoor event safety plan and risk assessment

Outdoor event safety plan and risk assessment

If you’re planning an outdoor event, then you should produce a safety plan and risk assessment. Our template will get you started.

Setting it all out

You could be asked for a safety plan and risk assessment by various individuals or bodies, from directors and managers in your own organisation to the police, licensing officers, local authorities etc. It’s also a very useful document to share with all those who are involved in running the event, including stallholders, activity leaders, first aiders, fire marshals etc.

As there’s little readily available guidance aimed at small outdoor events, it might be difficult to know where to start or, indeed, where to stop.

Our template is set out as a simple form which includes a partially completed risk assessment. Whilst we can’t anticipate all of the variables for each and every event, we’ve tried to give you a good head start.

This plan is intended for outdoor events for up to 3,000 people.
